
SOFTBALL EQUIPMENT
A common question that parents always have is what gear is provided and what gear do I need to buy or borrow to ensure a great little league season. Some answers to this question are provided below.Apparel
Parents will purchase matching team uniforms through a dealer site once teams have been formed. BNLL will hold "Uniform Try-On Dates" at the Assessment for you daughter to try on before purchasing to ensure proper fit.

• Team Pant
• Team Belt
• Team Socks
Required Equipment
Required equipment for the season include:
- Cleats (no metal spikes)
- Softball Glove. The biggest mistake in selecting a fastpitch softball glove for a new or young player is that parents buy a glove that is too big, hoping the player will grow into it. Read more on Youth Softball Glove Size Chart
- Softball Fielding Face Guards - Learn Why?
- Batting Helmet - required, but there is generally an extra helmet in the field gearbox. However, most players do have their own.
Optional:- Batting Gloves - not required, but many players wear them
- Equipment bag (backpack or duffel)
- Catcher's gear (team gear will also be provided). Encouraging catchers to provide their own catcher's gear if possible.
- Baseball/softball sliders or compression shorts
- Sunglasses
- Softball Bats - there is generally a bat available to borrow, however, most players do have their own.
- Softball Bats: Bat must be a Softball Bat which meets Little League specifications and standards, printed with a BPF (bat performance factor) of 1.20. See the Little League Rulebook app for more info.
